Under the leadership of Andy Pickles, the Training Band is open to less experienced brass players of all ages. We originally had a membership of 15 players - some of whom also played in the senior band.  As well as fundraising locally, we received financial support this year from RAF Wittering, Peterborough Police and Stamford Lions, all of which will be spent on uniforms, music and new instruments. The band played at various functions in 2005 - 6 including local fetes, barbeques and official dinners.

The Band is now seeking new members, from players with some experience to total beginners and people of any age are welcome.

The aims of the Training Band are to:-

  • Promote enjoyment of music through the teaching of brass playing

  • Maintain links with the Senior Band and develop less experienced players, with a view to them joining the main band

  • The ultimate goal is to be in a position to teach new players and form a beginners group over the next 12 months

If you are interested in joining or booking the training band please contact Andy Pickles or any other member of the band committee (see contacts).
